    With the help of an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) coal fired power plants utilize a highly charged electric field in order to trap ash and other particulates, keeping the amount of ash escaping from the plant very low. However, mercury can also be found in coal, and the ESP’s are less adept at capturing it. In order to solve this problem Michigan engineers have developed a method that works in tandem with an ESP, reducing the amount of mercury emitted into the air while at the same time not adding a separate process to an already complex power plant system. ABOUT THE PROFESSOR Herek Clack is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His Research focuses on the study, characterization, and enhancement of fluid, thermal, and mass transport processes, primarily associated with combustion and combustion emissions control. Specific areas of interest include: droplet combustion, especially involving radiant heating effects; control of trace toxic and metallic compounds emitted as a result of fossil fuel combustion; electrostatic precipitation and novel uses of electro-hydrodynamics (EHD) to augment heat and mass transfer; particulate carbon emissions and their climate forcing effects, especially as they intersect with other air pollutant emissions.

The wheeled quadpod mount and metal halide lamps used with this unit provide operators with excellent power and efficiency coupled with high versatility and ease of use.Two 70 watt, explosion proof metal halide lamps mounted on a two wheeled adjustable quadpod tower gives operators an easily deployable source of powerful light that can be quickly setup and adjusted to effectively illuminate hazardous work areas. This unit contains two 70 watt, dual ended metal halide lamps, and is capable of illuminating 26,000 square feet of work space with 11,000 lumens of light. The two 70 watt metal halide lamps on this unit produce illumination equivalent to two typical 400 watt halogen lamps while drawing only 140 watts at 1.1 amps.The metal halide lamps run cooler than 400 watt halogen lamps, resulting in an easier to handle unit and less heat in the workspace. This unit’s durability, easy deployment, high power and the good color rendering of its metal halide lamps make it ideal for close work and hazardous areas where safety, detail and accuracy are critical.This explosion proof metal halide tower light is comprised of a removable dual light head assembly mounted atop an adjustable quadpod light tower fabricated from non sparking aluminum. The non sparking, adjustable and collapsible tripod can be extended to twelve feet and collapsed to seven feet via an included hand winch, while wheels mounted to the bottom of the tower enable the operator to tilt the unit back and simply roll the entire assembly to a new location. The explosion proof light fixture bracket can be removed by releasing the hand knob and sliding the lights and mounting bracket off of the tower support while the legs can be collapsed, aiding in deployment, storage and transport. The lamps can be easily adjusted up, down or from side to side and locked into position.Lamps: This units’ lamp assemblies each include a 70 watt metal halide bulb, internal ballast and aluminum finish reflector in a copper-free cast aluminum housing with a thermoset powder coat finish. The shell, covers and sealed fittings are also made of copper-free aluminum. The lens is constructed of 3/4″ thermal shock and impact resistant tempered glass and the housing contains threaded joints lubricated with non-drying lubricant. The metal halide lamps have no filament and are thus highly resistant to damage from shocks or impacts, greatly reducing the chances of damage should the tower be knocked over, unlike incandescent lamps which may break or shatter. The lamp housings are waterproof , making this unit ideal for use in wet and marine environments. The metal halide lamps provide 26,000 square feet of coverage with good color rendering and object contrast.The lamps are rated at 2500+ hours of life, providing longer service life than typical halogen lamps. This tower mounted light system operates with 120 VAC and is supplied with 2 100 foot 16/3 SOOW cords ending in explosion proof straight blade plugs. An included transformer allows this unit to operate with 120 or 240 VAC, drawing 12 amps on 120 VAC.     SIBA HHD high voltage switchgear fuses are German DIN standard fuses suitable for air and gas insulated switchgear applications. SIBA high voltage fuses are available with 3.3/6.6kV, 6/11kV, 10/17.5kV, 10/24kV and 20/33kV voltages. SIBA HHD rated currents are 6.3A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 40A, 50A, 63A, 80A, 100A, 125A, 160A, 200A, 250A, 315A, 355A, 400A, 500A as back-up class, DIN 43625 standard high voltage switchgear fuses. SIBA HV switchgear fuse links have parallel connected pure silver fuse-elements. The design and method of production of the fuse elements ensures narrow tolerances of time-current characteristics. The high voltage fuse elements are wound on a ceramic support and are attached to the silver plated connection caps by means of spot-welding. The connection caps are fitted inside the silver plated copper end caps by spot welding. SIBA high voltage fuses are available with 80N or 120N striker pins - after melting the main fuse elements the striker pin indicates the operating status of the high voltage fuse and actuates a microswitch for remote indication, and/or triggers a load break switch or a circuit breaker to open. The SIBA copper end caps are press-fitted onto the porcelain tube which is glazed inside and outside. The end caps are mechanically fixed to the porcelain tube and additionally sealed by a durable elastic sealing medium. The SIBA fuse link sealing method has been proven over many decades of positive field experience and ensures tightness against ingress of humidity. SIBA high voltage switchgear fuse links up to and including 160amp are equippped with an integrated temperature limiter as standard providing additional HV circuit protection including thermal protection of adjacent equipment (SF6 gas switchgear), limitation of failure current at overload point and improved fuse properties for the switch-fuse combination according to IEC62271-105. The integrated temperature limiter avoids high temperatures generating within high voltage SF6 gas insulated switchgear. Overheating on plastic fuse enclosures in SF6 switchgear - Causes : *fuse selection rating too low for effective transformer protection *fuses loaded with fault currents below minimum breaking current *detorioration of high voltage fuse links caused by transient fault currents *transformer fault currents (eg winding short circuits) SIBA HV Fuses : SIBA high voltage fuse links for reliable circuit protection of air, gas and oil insulated high voltage switchgear and transformers operating at 3.3kV, 6.6kV, 11kV, 20kV and 33kV voltages - this includes back-up fuses, general purpose fuses, motor fuses, capacitor fuses, overhead line fuses and full range high voltage fuses for switchgear and transformers. So it is very important to Inspect your old bearing .Replace the bearing even if it 25% worn out. 2) Friction Plate:This is the Main component which couples engine and gearbox. The friction of Friction plate helps in coupling of engine and gear box. with the uses these friction material wears out and hence the coefficient of Friction which leads to clutch slipping issue. This friction plate wears out and it's thickness reduces . 3) Pressure plate:The Pressure plate provides the pressure required for coupling of Engine and gearbox. Pressure plate presses the friction plate against the flywheel of engine and because of increased friction coupling of engine and gearbox takes place. Pressure plate also contains Metal Diaphragm like structure which helps in Engaging and Disengaging of clutch. with the long used Fingers of Pressure plate Diaphragm becomes hard and makes the clutch pedal hard to operate.Its always good decision to replace both the pressure plate and friction plate together.
